The person I’m working on is Joseph Pulitzer. Joseph Pulitzer was born on
April 10,1847 in Budapest, Hungary. He is a famous publisher because he won
4 prizes and he made a famous newspaper. At the age of 25 he became a
publisher. Around that time he married Kate Paris. They both immigrated to
the United States in 1864. They immigrated to St. Louis. In St. Louis he got
a job as journalist. He
was known as the “yellow journalist” because he always wore a yellow jacket
everyday. After they went to New York because they had to work there. At the
age of 43 he didn’t return to his job because he had competition with
another man. He was very furious at that time because the guy was trying to
take his job at that time. He was also famous by the Nobel prizes because he
gave money to the people who won them. The Nobel prizes are like an award
that the give you, but Joseph Pulitzer gave money instead of a trophy.
Joseph
Pulitzer accomplished three things. The first thing was to accomplish his
research. The second thing was to give 5,000 dollars to the winners of the
Nobel prizes, and the third thing was to give money for the Nobel prizes. “He
is a very interesting person to work on.’’ |

I am working on Sammy
Sosa. He was born in November 17, 1968 and he is from San Pedro Marcoris. He
is still alive too. Some of his accomplishment was recording a club record
43 multiple homers, game 44 overalls. Another one was joining Ernie Banks as
the only player in cub history with seven 30-homer campaigns, and becoming
the first Cub to drive at least 100 runs in six straight games. In baseball
Sammy Sosa plays right field.
Sammy Sosa has
a society called the Children Medical Center for Preventive Medicine and you
may find it the Dominican Republic. He had a foundation in 1998. He made the
foundation in 1999.

Levi Strauss |
|
| |
|
|
Levi Strauss was born in Buttenheim, Bavaria on February 26, 1829. Levi was
famous for very famous pants named after him. He thought of making overalls.
Today people still wear them but Levi is still dead.
Two years after his death, his children immigrated to New York. They made a
new place for their job but they still moved for more room. He moved to San
Francisco because he wanted to raise more money.
Levi died in San Francisco,
September 28, 1902. On Monday, the day of his funeral, local businesses were
temporarily closed so that their proprietors could attend the services.
People still remember Levi by his famous pants. |

I am writing about Levi
Strauss. Levi is from Bavaria. He was born February 26,1829. He died in his
house when he was asleep nice and peaceful. He immigrated to San Francisco.
He immigrated to San Francisco to make his fortune but not by gold and
things like that. He sold supplies to the throngs of miners. He made Levi
jeans that many people like me still wear today. He had two lovely wives. He
had five children with his first wife, they are Jacob, Jonas, Louis, Rosia
and Mathide. When he died they changed the spelling of his name to Levy.
The day he
died he told his nurse that he had felt good. Two years after his death
Rebeced, Loeb, Fanny and Mathide his relatives then immigrated to New York.
Levi gave some of his money to some family members. In summing up Levi’s
life and the establishment of his business, the San Francisco call stated:
Fairness and integrity in his deals with his eastern factories. |
