I am doing a story on Harry Houdini. He is a famous magician. He was born on March 24, 1874. He was named Enrich Weisz on March 24. He lives in Appleton Wisconsin. He died on October 31 on Halloween. He died in an old Grace Hospital by getting hit in the stomach. He worked at Coney Island in June 1894. He was married two weeks later on June 22 1894. In 1898 he made a Challenge a Handcuff act. |

I’m working on Harry Houdini who was born on March 24,1874. He was named Enrich Weiz. He was the third child out of five children. He came with his family in 1878 when he was 4 yrs. old. He traveled with his family to Ellis Island. After the years went by they moved to Appleton, Wisconsin. When Harry was 10 yrs old .He ran away with the circus. He learned many tricks. He traveled with them city to city. After a year he went home. He told his family his adventure. He grew up liking performing his magic tricks. Then he became “The famous Houdini”. But wonderful Houdini died, because, he said he could out stand any man’s punch. One man punched him three times in the stomach, so his appendix burst. He died on Oct. 31, 1916. |

Zubin Mehta was born on April 29, 1936 in Bombay, India. Zubin is known for famous conducting. Conductors tell musician how to play either soft or loud. He performed 1,600 performances on five continents. The five continents are South America, Europe, Australia, Asia, and North America. The reason he immigrated to the United States is because he did not get enough freedom in his country, and to make his way of conducting. Zubin and his family were trying to get away but his mother didn’t make it. They had killed her in 1946. Zubin Mehta performed a performance on June 1994 to raise money for a refugee fund. In March 1996 Zubin completed a four- year commitment to perform Wagner’s Ring Cycle with the Lyric opera of Chicago. In 1993 Zubin retired and settled down in New York. Zubin Mehta is 65 years old. |

John Muir was an immigrant that immigrated to Wisconsin with his parents and his brother. He was born in Dunbar Scotland on April 21, 1838 and died in the year 1914. He lived in California and died in Los Angles. He was famous because he stopped people from cutting trees. He was an explorer, sheepherder, inventor, naturalist, and carver in the woods. He made a clock while working at a carriage parts shop in Indianapolis. Muir became blind in one eye. One month later he went to live near the fields and woods. Then he married Louie Wanda Stenzel and had two children. There name were Wanda and Helen. John Muir went to a lot of places. They were Alaska, Australia, and South America and many more. |

My person is a famous basketball player. My person is originally from Houston Texas; he was born on 1/21/63. Hakeem Olajuwon is still alive, he is 34 years old. Mr. Olajuwon immigrated to New York in 1980, the reason he immigrated was because he didn’t like living there and because there were not many jobs in Texas. After he finished college he decided if he was good in playing basketball he should play it. So he came to New York, so he could have a chance, one day he was practicing and this coach discovered him. Then the coach decided to sponsor him. He found a team to play on, it was the Rockets. After that didn’t work out, he found another team and still is with them today. The team is the Houston Rockets. Mr. Olajuwon made accomplishments like he wanted to become famous and he did. He also wanted to travel and he did, and he also wanted to be a basketball player and he accomplished that to. When he started to play again he made his own sneakers. This is additional information: he weighs 255 lbs./115.7 kg his college was in Huston Texas his height is 7-0/2,13 and his basketball position is center. |
