Deborah Sampson
was born 1776 and died 1827. She was the oldest out of 6 children. Her
family was very poor they didn’t have enough food for every body. So then
her family told Deborah to live with her friends or relatives.
After a while she became a wonderful teacher and joined the army. Deborah
pretended to be a man, her name was (Robert Shurtsloff). Deborah was injured
two times during the war, she didn’t let them remove the bullet from her leg
because they would discover that she was an women. Later during her life she
developed a fever. Few months later her captain gave her an honor roll for
best brave solider. She died when she was 66 years old in 1827.
