John Hancock

 
         

          John Hancock was born in 1737. He lived with his uncle. John Hancock entered politics in 1765. He became a rich businessman. He was a Son of Liberty. His boat got burn because he was a Son of Liberty.

John Hancock was sent to Philadelphia as a delegate to the second Continental Congress. He signed the Declaration of Independence to have freedom. John Hancock resigned as a president of the Congress in 1777. In 1780 he was elected the first governor in Massachusetts. He was involved in the American Revolution. He was a leader of American Revolution. Then John Hancock died on October 8, 1793. 

 
         
         
 

Patrick Henry

   
     

Patrick Henry was born in 1736 in Hanover, Virginia. He was a Son of Liberty. He told them give me Liberty or Give Me Death. He had four kids. He was a poor businessman. He was also a General for the British Army.

He became a lawyer for five years. He was a criminal lawyer. Patrick died at Red Hill in 1779.

 
         
         
 

George Washington

   
         

        George Washington was born in Virginia 1732. He was the leader of the Patriot Army. He crossed the Delaware River to attack the German and British on Christmas. He went across the river and captured prisoners and money. The Patriot Army had fought in Lexington Concord and Bunker Hill but they retreated from those battles.

        There was one battle, The Battle of Valley Forge. In Valley Forge the army was very poor, men died of frostbite and starvation and shoes wore out and blood was on snow. George Washington hired French soldiers to help fight King George. When the war was over America was it own country.

 
         
         
 

General Lafayette

   
         

                General Lafayette was born in 1757 and died in 1834. His father died in a battle in 1759 when Lafayette was only 2. His mother and grandfather died in 1770. Lafayette’s full name was Marie Joseph Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette.

       General Lafayette left for America in April 1777 to fight for American freedom. He met at the Continental Congress that same year in July. After that, Lafayette became a Major General. He even convinced the King of France to send over: soldiers, ships, and supplies like: food, guns, bullets, and bandages. He trained the soldiers to fight with the British muskets. He also trained them with fighting skills. Without Lafayette we might not have won the American Revolution.

 
         
         
 

John Adams

   
         

        John Adams was born in Massachusetts. Bay colony in 1735. John Adams was married to Miss Johnson. John Adams was the second president of the United States. After Adams became president the war between French and Britain was causing great difficulties.

       John Adams was related to Sam Adams. John Adams told a great story about how Sam Adams learned how to ride a horse. John Adams served during the Revolutionary war in France and Holland

 
         
         
 

Crispus Attucks

   
         

Crispus Attucks was born in Boston Massachusetts, Crispus Attucks grew up a slave. He ran away from slavery October 2, 1750 and became a sailor. Crispus Attucks is part black and part Indian because his dad is black and his mom is Indian.

He became a leader for the colonist when he came back from sailing. Crispus came back to Boston in the fall of 1769. He died March 5, 1770 in the Boston Massacre. He was the first to die. On March 5, 1770 Crispus Attucks was shot in the chest by Hugh Montgomery. Hugh Montgomery is a British private. In 1888 Boston dedicated a monument for the people who died in the Boston massacre. The people in Boston never forgot Crispus Attucks.      

 
         
 

Ben Franklin

   
         

       There once was a man who was called Ben Franklin. He was born in 1706 and died in 1790. In Boston, Mass. He was the youngest son of the family. He only went to school for two years in Boston. In 1730 he married a lady named Deborah Read.

Then he became a printer in Philadelphia. After that he took a job in a library. He also signed all three key documents in American history. Those documents were called the Declaration of Independence, the Treaty of Alliance with France, and the Treaty of Peace with Great Britain 

Ben Franklin helped Pennsylvania’s first university and American’s first hospital. Then he turned into a inventor and invented a lightning rod, bifocals, the Franklin stove which is a wooden stove, swim fins, a glass ammoniac, water tight bulk heads for ships and an odometer. Then he got too old to walk so he invented a chair with four poles to be carried and the four guys that carried him were guys from jail.
