| At the corner of North Main Street and Olney Street, only a few blocks from our school is the site of the Liberty Tree. In 1768 at the dedication of the Liberty Tree, Silas Downer, a Providence Son of Liberty, became one of the first Americans to deny publicly the power of the English Parliament over the colonies.
